Road Closure for installation of the 13th Yang di-Pertuan Agong

Several roads in city to be closed

KUALA LUMPUR: Several roads in the city will be closed from today till Friday in conjunction with the installation of the 13th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Wathiqu Billah Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Mahmud Al-Muktafi Billah Shah, on Thursday.

City traffic operations officer Deputy Supt Tan Hiap Seng said roads leading to Istana Negara would be closed from 8.20am to 9am on Thursday to allow for smooth passage of vehicles bearing the Malay Rulers and VIPs.

He said Jalan Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, from the city to Jalan Istana Baru and the road from the direction of Seremban to Jalan Istana Baru would also be closed.

He said only vehicles with special stickers and tour buses would be allowed to use those roads at that time.

From today to Friday, Jalan Raja in front of Dataran Merdeka will be closed for rehearsals of a cultural performance to be held on Friday.

On Friday, Jalan Raja, Jalan Sultan Ismail up to Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman; Jalan Dang Wangi up to Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman; Jalan Tun Perak (from Puduraya) up to Jalan Raja; the exit road to the Datuk Onn roundabout; Jalan Tangsi (at the Datuk Onn roundabout) and the Jalan Kuching exit road to Dataran Merdeka in front of the National Mosque will be closed from 7.30pm until the end of the performance. — Bernama‘;’ type=’text/javascript’>
